The Artists
Elena Surayeva
Elena was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, and from the age of three she was introduced to arts and crafts which turned into passion for art as an adult. After getting an Art/Design Diploma Elena went on to complete a 5-year Masters program in Fine Arts at the International University of Dnepropetrovsk. In Ukraine Elena taught art and visual geometry at a private school for several years prior to moving to Canada in 2002. After the move Elena opened an art studio in Richmond where she continues to teach children and adults in oil, pastel and silk painting techniques.
Elena is a proud member of Burnaby Artist Guild. Elena and her family live in Burnaby, where she works, teaches, and raises two wonderful children.
